EULLearN

Welcome to the homepage of EULLearN, the European Thematic Network of University Lifelong Learning within the Socrates Institutional Contract of more than 100 partner institutions in 31 countries, co-ordinated by ISM University of Management and Economics.

Lifelong learning has been the subject of discussions and development for many years. Yet, today there is a greater need than ever for the citizens to acquire knowledge and competences necessary for both, to tap the benefits and to meet the challenges of the knowledge-based society.

Higher levels of education and continuous learning, when accessible to all, make an important contribution to the reduction of inequalities and prevention of marginalisation. This, however, raises fundamental questions on how well-equipped traditional education and training systems are to keep pace with the developments outlined.

EULLearNDis Extended Management Meeting was held on 31 August – 1 September 2007 in Reykjavik, Iceland. The main aims of the meeting: 1) to overview EULLearN and EULLearNDis activities, 2) to prepare for EULLearNDis Final Report, 3) to discuss plans for future cooperation.
